Life is Gooooood...

We have had a great super-long weekend so far. We decided to leave Fayetteville early on Thursday to drive down to Columbia to visit Chris for the night. We ended up going to dinner at McAlister's which is one of our faves and to see the new Indiana Jones movie. It was alright, but didn't quite live up to the coolness of the other three. And Harrison Ford is looking OLD! :-P
We then went out to a restaurant/bar called Wild Wing in Columbia. There was a live cover band playing that was AWESOME.

They played all kinds of music and sounded just like the originals. It was packed full of people and we had a good time. From there we went to a bar called Kelly's. A little bit of hanging out and playing the bowling arcade game led us to reach exhaustion and we headed home. The hubby forced me to stop at the Bi-Lo to get some Bagel Bites before we got home cuz he was hungry...at 2:00 in the morning. haha. What we do for the hubbies!

We woke up Friday morning and got Krispy Kreme donuts and took them to a park at USC and sat on a bench to eat them. Chocolate Boston kreme filled donuts and cinnamon twists are the only way to go there! They were yummy.

Pretty scenery...
Then we walked around town looking at some of the local shops for a little while, got a parking ticket for our meter running out of time ($7, dang it!), and ate lunch at a sandwich joint called Groucho's. Good sammies and sweet tea, mmm mmmm. We then headed to Concord where we stayed with his grandma, Miss Barbara. She is such a good host. We were greeted Friday night with country-style steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, deviled eggs, and biscuits. And you can't forget the real southern sweet tea. We've eaten really good since we've been here. It's always sad to leave. Luckily, we were able to stay another day because of the Memorial Day holiday.

While we've been here, we've gone bowling (where I kicked butt with a high score of 173), went roller skating with their little cousin Katie (it's been a while), to a small southern church service, to a bar with crazy rednecks everywhere (worse than anything I've ever seen in TX), to the Cabarrus Creamery for Sunday afternoon ice cream (with the biggest 'kiddie' scoop I've ever seen!), and on a never-failing 1:00am Waffle House excursion. It's been a great weekend! Pictures are finally here! Poor boys didn't stand a chance...:)

I still got it on the ole in-line skates... (I'm in yellow, Chad in gray) MMM Fat kids love ice cream!!
Now we're home again and busy catching up on laundry and life. Another fun week of activities is to come...Until later...
P.S. Congratulations to both the Cozarts & the Dawsons on their new babies to love! I'm glad all are healthy and happy...not to mention beautiful too!! :)
