Talk about bittersweet...

Well, today is what all military wives know as our own personal 'doom's day'. I got up this morning to take my husband and his brother to the airport for their trek back home and then overseas. This deployment is going to be a good one, especially for Chad since he will be in Germany rather than the desert, but no matter how good things might look from the outside...life just never is the same when you are left without your other half. I'm mostly sad because he's going to miss out on the baby fun that both of us are so excited about. Me getting larger and larger and finding out the sex, etc. I have plans to keep him informed and to make him still feel included in the process, but he won't be there to hold my hand and cry with me when we find out the sex and see our baby for the first time (on screen). But, I guess that's going to be the sacrifices we have to make to ensure that he is here for the more important parts, like the birth and crucial first months. We can definitely thank God for working that out for us!

We had the greatest of weekends here in SA-town and I am so sad it's over already. I guess good things really can't go on forever, but that's a shame. We had a fun-filled but long road trip, we finally got here, and the party began. Friday night we ate a homemade lasagna at my parent's house and pitched the infamous washers in the backyard til about midnight. After a night of sleepy recovery, we went to eat lunch at Rosa's, which we had been looking forward to for months! It was delicious, as usual. Then, we took a stroll around town to show Cassandra what has changed these past 4 years and Chris what SA-town had to offer. There was a torrential downpour going on at the same time, so it made for difficult sight-seeing, but it was eventful nonetheless. Then, we came home to prep ourselves for a fabulous fajita bar-b-que in the backyard and continued the washer pitching games. We spent all day outside and enjoyed some delicious beer-butt chicken...yes, they stick a beer in the chicken's butt and slow-cook it on the grill...it was so yummy and juicy.

Sunday rolled around and we decided to go see Night at the Museum II at the theatre and followed it up with linner (late lunch, early dinner) at Cheddar's. The food was great and the movie was cute. We headed home to change and get prepped for going to Woofers & Tweeters to meet up with a bunch of friends and some family there. Oh goodness, did we have some fun there! I always said I'd never get on a karaoke stage in public, but that sure didn't last long. I think I was up there about 6 times by the end of the night...poor people. I can't really carry a tune at all, but I can rap the heck out of some Baby Got Back and Ice Ice Baby, so I did. :) It was a really good time and we have some great pictures and videos to prove it, although to prevent incriminating or embarrassing myself any further, I believe I will abstain from posting them. Ha. We followed the good time there up with the usual midnight trip to Whataburger for some munchies. MMM, biscuits and gravy at 2:00 in the morning, haha. That's good for the flub...

Monday rolled around and we molested Rosa's again for all of the good Mexican food we could get our hands on. Then we took Cassandra to the airport so she could head back soon after that. That was a sad afternoon. We didn't want her to leave. :(

It was a pretty day outside yesterday, so we went out to KK's dad's lakehouse and boated around for a little while on Nasworthy. It was busy with people and college kids everywhere! I have never seen the horseshoe that packed with boats and people! We played some yard games like corn hole, washers, and polish golf (or whatever they call it) for a while before I decided I needed food or I was going to pass out. Ha. We went to Sonic to satisfy the craving and finished up the evening with a short round of disk golf at Grassy Meadows on the lake. A trip back home and a couple washer games later, we all hit the sack dreading this morning.

I think we made a believer out of Chris in his first trip to SA. He honestly didn't want to leave. I'm really glad everyone enjoyed themselves so much this weekend. It's great having a house full of people you care about. And a late Happy Memorial Day to all of you brave and sacrificing men and women, moms and dads, husbands and wives of the military forces! We appreciate you and know what you go through! :)

Now, I must focus on the excitement of the fun-filled Texas summer that is quickly approaching. Washing clothes, unpacking and re-packing (for Vegas) are on my to-do list today, so I must sign off! Hope everyone had a great weekend! :)

To make this easy, here is the link to my pictures from the weekend on Facebook. Or you could just go check 'em out there all of you Facebookers. :)

Ahhhhhhhh....

I'm feeling overwhelmed!!! I have so much to do today (one thing on my list is NOT to be on the computer, but here I am) and I don't know if I can get it all done in the time I want to. I guess it's time to turn on my burners and get my butt into gear!

This might be my last post for about a week or so. We have a lot of driving, sleeping, hanging out with the family, and the last couple days I get to see my husband for almost 4 months coming up, so I'll get back to you guys when I can.

Just know that very soon, I will be crossing over the Texas border and will be oh-so-happy about that!

Now, I'm off to pack, clean, organize, lose my mind, and dispose of things. Wish me luck! :)

Check, Check, Check-up...

I'm on a roll with trying to get stuff done this week. I've been busy today just checking things off our 'to do before deployment and Texas' list. It feels good to get things done...even if some of them are little. I'm soooo stoked about getting to Texas...I can't wait. The ride over there is going to be a lot of fun too with me, Chad, Chris, and Cassandra all making the trek together. Plus, we have a dvd player in the Tahoe now, so you know where I'm gonna be for half the time! We're going to be in the car for SOOO long. Twenty-four hours as of right now. It might become 25 1/2 hours if we drive to Raleigh first to leave Chad and Chris a car at the airport for when they get back. But, what's another hour and a half when you are already going 24?! Right? ha.

I chunked in the middle of dinner last night, unfortunately turning Chad off of his food too. Ha. Poor thing, but I couldn't help it. He's lucky I made it to the restroom! I had felt crappy all day and it finally hit me in the middle of my second bite. Not the most appetizing thing, at all. Poor thing. He finally ended up eating though, so it's all good. :)

I had another check-up today. It wasn't quite time for me to go again, but the doc and nurses wanted me to come in before the long road trip just to make sure all things were good....and they were. We tried to hear the heartbeat with the doppler, but had no luck finding it. I heard mine for a second and got really excited, but it wasn't the baby's. Sad day. He said it might still be a little early for it to be heard clearly though, so that's that. And I got to keep my clothes on that time....SCORE! ha. All seems fine, which is good.

Someone at the car dealership is mentally slow and spelled Chad's name incorrectly on the tag and title paperwork, so our registration and tags were sent back and are going to get here late now. Kind of frustrating because it's already been over 2 weeks. Good thing our paper tags on it right now are good for another 30 days or so.

I'm hungry for dinner already, but as usual, nothing really sounds good which makes a trip to the store somewhat pointless. I finally understand how my mom felt when she constantly had to come up with dinner ideas and had to go grocery shopping for all of it. It's a very tiring and annoying thing to have to do. I'm already tired of it and I don't even have finicky eating kids yet! ha. Thanks mom for always making dinner...whether I gave suggestions or not. :)

There is a weird smell taking over our house. I can't tell what it is, but it smells somewhat soily or spoiled. Not like food or anything, just like something funky. So, I bought a couple different odor neutralizers and fresheners at Home Depot today. So far, it's helped a little bit, but I get tired of having to walk around with a air freshening bottle every hour or so. Ugh.

Our house was shown for the 2nd time in 4 months this past weekend...RIDICULOUS. What a depressing time for house selling! I talked to our realtor today and she told me there are 9 condos for sale in our complex alone. We are one of the two priced at the lowest, but are still having absolutely no luck. Pray for some biters, please! We'd love to sell it while Chad's gone! That'd be awesome! :)

I guess that's all I got for now. All rambles, but that's how things are these days. Come on Tuesday! :)

Life is Beachy...

Well, Chad & I weighed our options to stay here in our town for our last weekend before the deployment, or to drive 2 1/2 hours to the beach again. As you can imagine, we decided on the beach. It's just so warm and relaxing and NOT Fayetteville. Ha.

Nothing beats sitting on a lawn chair at the Marriott resort on the beach there. Soaking in the nice, warm sun and dipping into the perfectly temped pools to cool off. Then, walking on the beach and throwing the football to get all sandy again. It's a good time. The ocean water itself is still on the chilly side, although my face could probably benefit from the salt water. I'm still fighting the hormonic breakouts I was having trouble with several months ago. It's driving me crazy.

I still haven't found a swimsuit that I can be happy and comfortable in this summer. It's quite depressing. If anyone finds a site or store where I can find a bottom that will hold in a curvaceous butt and a tankini top that holds in the ladies and might grow along with my belly, that'd be awesome! Hook me up! :)

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

What's up with us...

Well, it's official that I have, once again, fallen off of the blogging wagon. I haven't really felt like I had much to post, but I do think that I can at least afford you all a bullet post. So, here it is:

*Chad is set to deploy to Germany a couple days after Memorial Day. We plan to leave out of here to start our trek to Texas next Wednesday (I'm so excited to get back to my home roots!). Plus, on our way to Texas, we're picking up a hitch hiker named Cassandra in Arkansas! We're taking her with us to the old stomping grounds of SA-town. It's gonna be a super-fun weekend!

*We have so much to do before we head to TX. Some of which I wish we didn't have to mess with. Lots of laundry, cleaning, storage arrangement, mail forwarding, AC filter changing, oil changing for the truck, baby gift registering (yay), another potential trip to the beach this weekend, etc. etc. Oh yeah, and my all-time favorite thing...PACKING (for 3 months...ugh!).

*I'm currently making beef stroganoff for dinner. MMM.

*I haven't worked out or done anything truly aerobic in way too long. Nausea is not the greatest workout motivator. It has subsided slightly, but isn't quite gone just yet. Only 2 1/2 weeks more for the first trimester! Maybe it'll improve then!

*I can't believe Helen won The Biggest Loser last night! I was pretty shocked. Although she looks healthier than before, I thought she looked a little scary thin last night. But, the competition is over and more than likely, she'll put about 10 pounds back on safely. ha.

*The So You Think You Can Dance season starts next Thursday and I'm so excited! It's my favorite summer show.

*It's been 2 1/2 months since I got my hair done last. Everyone knows I go blonde with my color...therefore, you can all imagine the mess that is up on my head right now. I already made an appointment with sissy-in-law KK for when I get back home. She's a pro and I know I can trust her. I can't wait much longer to get this mess taken care of!

*I still haven't found a swimsuit that I can be happy with this summer. Although, I found the cutest OP neon board shorts at Wal-Mart of all places...and for only $12! I'm totally buying them. :)

*I need a tan.

I guess I'm out of bullets. They weren't very interesting I know, but I'm trying. Ha. Oh yeah! I'm so glad all of you mothers out there had such a good Mother's Day! :)

ANGTT, ANGTT, ANGTT...WAKE UP!

Well, Tuesday was an interesting morning for me. Chad had already taken off to work and I was then enjoying the entire queen size bed to myself; all comfy and sprawled out, sleeping like a baby. I could even hear the sound of raindrops hitting our bedroom windows, which just helped my sleep to be even deeper. When, all of a sudden, a crack of thunder banged so loudly that I thought my building had been hit directly by the strike. It was soooo loud that it woke me out of my comfortable slumber at an early 7:55am...ha. In response to the crack of lightning, I immediately hear our fire alarm go off in the condo with the most loud and obnoxious "ANGTT...ANGTT...ANGTT" you have ever heard.

I pop out of bed, throw some pj pants and a jacket on, grabbed my phone and purse, and headed out of the house. I looked around outside to see if there really was a fire anywhere in our building or somewhere nearby. Thankfully, there wasn't anything to be seen. So, I ran out into the pouring rain to the Tahoe in the parking lot and jumped in to wait and see what else would happen. Now, I know the inside of a vehicle in an open-air parking lot is not the safest place to be when in the middle of a huge thunderstorm, but the noise from the alarms was enough to make me want to shoot myself in the head if I had to hear it any longer. The even worse part was that it wasn't just the noise from MY condo, it was every fire alarm, inside and out, of our whole building. That is at least 40+ fire alarms ringing in unison. Wow. To give you an idea of the noise, I was in the Tahoe, which is conveniently parked at the very end of our parking lot (where no one else parks) so that it is safe from other crazy drivers and has plenty of room for itself. As I sat there in the car, I could still hear the alarms...so I turned up the music. :)

About 12 minutes after I got to the car, the fire trucks pull up. They went to a different building first (I guess their alarms might have been hit too), then made it over to mine. They had to put their huge electric ladder thing on top of the 3rd story roof to have a fireman climb up there with a steel rod to disable the alarms (somehow). I still to this point don't know what exactly set them all off, but whatever. This finally happened after about 15 minutes of 4 fireman walking around the building trying to figure out how to turn them off. It was quite a funny thing to watch. All I really cared about was that the noise would go away and I could go back into my house to grab something to eat. Pregnant girl was hungry! :)

So, as much as I hate the sound of the regular alarm clock doing its thing in the mornings, I absolutely prefer it to the sound of the fire alarm! Lesson learned. :)

Pretty Flowers...

A few days after we told the family about our prego news, we received a really pretty bouquet of flowers at our house. My mom & dad sent them to us as a 'congratulations, we're so excited' bouquet. I love havin' me some flowers around the house. And amazingly, they lasted for almost 2 weeks. We really enjoyed them!
They were pretty pinks and blues for the baby to come. :)

Thanks Mimi & Pops! We can't wait either! :)

Our Newest Addition!

Well, Chad & I went out today (for about the 3rd day in a row) to scope out some vehicles on the bazillions of lots they have here. We had our eyes open to large SUV's, honed in on either the Chevy Tahoe or the GMC Yukon. We like the size, the functionality, the storage space, the comfort for adults, and the look. When we thought of the family car we wanted, we went to those two every time. So, we started our search, found about 12 good, used ones to choose from, and came to an awesome decision this afternoon. Yes, my friends, we purchased a very nice, decked out Tahoe today...and we're so happy about it! :)

Here are some pics of our newest addition to the Sellers family! A little Carfacts for ya:
2004 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 with gray leather interior, bucket seats, dvd player, front and rear air/radio controls, in a pretty Silverbirch color. :)

Here we are...one, big, happy family. :)
